Let's Play Rouk Zouk 🎉
Let's Play Rouk Zouk 🎉
Duration
8–10 minutes
Activity Description
Get ready to play an icebreaker game inspired by the famous TV show “Rouk Zouk”!
Goal
The team must discover the 5 hidden words chosen by one child in each round.
This activity promotes:
teamwork,
communication,
quick thinking,
and active participation.
Instructions
Explain to the children that in each round:
one child becomes the “team leader,”
receives a category,
and secretly chooses 5 words related to that category.
With the tutor’s help in a breakout room, the child prepares the hidden words.
After returning to the main room:
the tutor reveals only the category,
and the rest of the children begin guessing words one by one in order to discover all 5 hidden words.
Preparation for Tutors 📝
Before the session, the tutor should prepare several categories, such as:
5 objects found in a living room
5 countries in Europe
5 animals found in a zoo
5 emotions people experience
The older the children are, the more challenging the categories can become.
Step-by-Step Process
Choose the child who will be the first team leader.
Create a breakout room with the child.
Share the category privately.
Help the child think of 5 hidden words if needed.
Return to the main session.
Share a countdown timer on the screen.
Set the order in which children will guess.
Children take turns saying words until time runs out.
Example:
Child A guesses first
Child B joins after 10 seconds
Child C after 20 seconds
etc.
Make sure the children clearly understand:
the order,
the timing,
and how the guessing works.
Tutor Notes ✨
While children are guessing:
keep track of how many hidden words are discovered,
encourage teamwork,
celebrate participation,
and reveal the missing words at the end.
You may also ask the team leader:
“How many words did your team manage to find?”
Tips for Larger Groups 👥
If there is not enough time for every child to lead a round:
Option A
Explain that children who do not get a turn today will become team leaders in the next session.
Option B
Place children in pairs inside breakout rooms and allow them to choose the hidden words together collaboratively.
