Postponing and Canceling Sessions
Before you proceed to postpone or cancel a session on the Morphoses platform, it's essential to first communicate with a Morphoses team member. This step ensures that all necessary arrangements and adjustments can be made smoothly and efficiently. Once you have discussed and confirmed the postponement with a team member, you can then follow the standard procedure. Remember, effective communication is key to ensuring a seamless experience for both you and your learners.
How to Postpone a Session
Accessing the Session:
In your dashboard, click on the class you wish to modify.
Select the specific session you want to postpone.
Initiating Postponement:
Find and click the "Postpone" button on the right side of the session page.
A pop-up window will appear for you to select the reason for postponing.
Completing the Postponement:
After selecting the reason, click "Postpone".
The session will be automatically postponed.
Attention for Demo Classes:
You can postpone a demo class session up to two times.
In the third instance, the session must be canceled.
Postponed demo sessions are rescheduled to the same time the following week.
Notification to Enrolled Users:
Users enrolled in the session will receive an automated notification about the postponement.
A pop-up window will show up where you should select the reason for postponing.
Once you select the reason for postponing and click on the Postpone button, your session will have been automatically postponed.
Note: Sometimes it might be too late to show you that the session is postponed - do not press the button many times. Wait for a few minutes to see if it is updated, refresh your page and only if after refresh is not postponed, click to postpone it again.
How to Cancel a Session
Accessing the Cancellation Option:
On the session page, locate the "Cancel session" button in the top right corner.
Executing Cancellation:
Clicking this button will cancel the session.
All activities for the session will be marked as skipped automatically.
Irreversible Action:
Be aware that once a session is canceled, this action cannot be undone.
Understanding the Difference Between Postponing and Canceling a Session
In the Morphoses platform, the actions of postponing and canceling a session have distinct implications.
When you postpone a session, it means the session is simply rescheduled to a later date, not skipped entirely. For example, if you postpone Session 4 originally scheduled for April 1st, it will now occur on April 8th. The sequence of sessions remains intact, merely shifted forward.
In contrast, cancelling a session means it is entirely removed from the schedule. If you cancel Session 4, the next meeting will be Session 5, effectively moving from Session 3 directly to Session 5.
It's important to note that canceling a session is generally discouraged and should only be considered under special circumstances. Such actions should always be discussed and agreed upon with the Morphoses team beforehand to ensure they align with the overall educational goals and maintain the integrity of the course structure.
